A League of My Own Wiki

Never Fight Your Heroes is the second episode of A League of My Own.

Plot[]

Hawkgirl still has Ben in her grip, believing the Omnitrix to be a WMD based on Batman's deduction of the Omnitrix being real and on Earth. Wonder Woman finds the violence excessive, while Flash reassures Gwen that they need to verify that the Omnitrix isn't going to destroy Earth, and Green Lantern tries to get Hawkgirl to ease up. Only Martian Manhunter, despite his calmness, agrees with Hawkgirl about the danger the Omnitrix poses.

Ben, desperate to get out of Hawkgirl's grip, transforms into Diamondhead, forcing her to let him go. A fight provoked, Diamondhead grabs Hawkgirl by the wrist and throws the Thanagarian into the air, prompting the other members of the Justice League around him to try to defuse the ensuing fight. Green Lantern surrounds Diamondhead with a force field produced by his Power Ring, not wanting the fight to escalate, but Diamondhead retaliates by ramming his fist into the floor, producing a pillar of crystals that bypass the force field and then jab away the Lantern. Martian Manhunter puts a hand on Diamondhead's head, sending a telepathic message to the Petrosapien telling him to stand down, but the Omnitrix senses the telepathic intrusion and releases a pulse of energy that blasts away the Martian, who is caught midair by Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman watches the fight continue as Flash runs circles around Diamondhead, trying to convince him to surrender while Diamondhead fires crystals from his hands at him. Diamondhead eventually counters the Fastest Man Alive by putting both hands in the ground, causing a circle of crystals to erupt around the Petrosapien and send Flash flying. Diamondhead then lets the awe and surprise of fighting the Justice League get to him, distracting him enough to allow Wonder Woman to punch him several feet away. Standing over Diamondhead, Wonder Woman orders him to stand down, but he refuses, standing up again as he tells the Amazon he's just getting started.
